IMPACT

Linen is very hard wearing and when blended with other fibres a versatile year round material. The farming methods are often seen to benefit the local environment as they do not require high quantities of fertiliser or pesticides, are rain fed, and rely on rotation systems which benefit soil health and biodiversity.
and we use it as it is breathable, versatile and easy to care for. Organic cotton is generally understood to use less water, no synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and is therefore less damaging to the environment than its intensively farmed equivalent.

      Linen for all seasons

We found the perfect blend of breathable linen and organic cotton to give our version of the fabric added softness and crease resistance. The result: linen that's comfortable and versatile enough to wear year-round.

      Linen

Linen is a fibre source from the flax plant which grows without the need for pesticides, fertilisers or irrigation and employs farming practices that could be considered regenerative as they benefit the soil and surrounding environment resulting in a low footprint.

Linen fabrics tend to be hard wearing, durable and versatile and are usually blended with organic cotton to impart a soft handfeel.

All our linen is sourced from within France and Belgium where we know that best practice farming methods are employed and when blended with cotton create fabrics which are versatile, durable and low impact.

      Tier 1

      Garment Manufacturing

      Tier 1

      Garment Manufacturing

      Portugal
      --
This is the production step that involves final assembly of the garment before it is delivered to our warehouse. This is where most of the social impacts are felt as it is labour intensive and we have 100% visibility of all the factories working at this stage.

      Tier 2

      Fabric Manufacturing

      Tier 2

      Fabric Manufacturing

      Italy, Italy
      --
This is the fabric production stage including the construction and dyeing of the fabrics and trims. This is usually where most of the carbon intensity is found as large amounts of energy are required for the production of fabrics. We currently have 88% visibility of the suppliers involved at this stage for our main fabrics.

      Tier 3

      Yarn Spinning

      Tier 3

      Yarn Spinning

      China
      --
This is where the fibres are spun into yarns, prior to being manufactured into fabrics. This stage is energy intensive and is often done in a unit separate to the tier 2 production. We currently have 47% visibility of the suppliers involved at this stage for our main fabrics.

      Tier 4

      Fibre Production

      Tier 4

      Fibre Production

      USA, France
      --
Depending on the fibre type, this is where fibres are grown, farmed, or manufactured. It is often very difficult to trace the supply chain to this tier however we currently have 25% visibility of the suppliers involved at this stage for our main fabrics.
