Biophilic Design

In late 2022, we revamped our design approach for new retail stores in Amsterdam and Coal Drops Yard, London, aligning with our commitment to fashion industry degrowth. To create a biophilic retail experience, we enlisted biophilic design specialist Oliver Heath to produce a blueprint and design approach. The stores were both designed and built by our longtime brand collaborator, British designer Fred Rigby.

Biophilic design, as defined by Oliver Heath, utilises humans' natural attraction to nature to enhance living and working spaces. Our new blueprint aims to evoke a strong sense of place and belonging, incorporating biophilic elements across lighting, materials, and the audio experience for a multi-sensory, immersive feeling of comfort and tranquility.
